The Word of God tells us that the Lord is Jehovah-Jireh, our provider. This name, Jehovah-Jireh, was the name given by Abraham to the place where he had sacrificed a ram provided by God, instead of his son. The meaning of this name has two dimensions:

A. Firstly, the Lord sees.
He knows exactly what you are going through. He sees every struggle and every fear.
He is the all-seeing God and He is not ignorant of your situation and dilemma. The Lord sees and provides for the necessities of His children.

B. Secondly, He wants to reveal Himself to you by answering your prayers and supplying your needs.
His ‘seeing’ of our needs does not stop there it moves from seeing to intervening.

WHAT DO WE NEED THAT HE WANTS TO PROVIDE?

A CONSTANT IN AN EVER CHANGING WORLD
We live a life that is characterised by constant change on every front. In fact we are challenged by change in every sphere and every dimension. Yet there is a longing within us for that which is sure and unchanging. HE comes and brings this assurance and eternal stability into our daily lives.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

While everything around us is shifting and changing, He comes to provide and bring us that knowledge of the fact that He is our eternal constant.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Let Him be your constant in an ever changing world.
