SUSTAINED SO THAT WE WILL NOT FALL
We are all challenged by the prospect of falling. Life has many challenges and each step of the way there is plenty of opportunity to fall. We need divine help to see us through.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.
Psalm 63:8 My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.
God wants to sustain us by helping us stand and to help us stay standing, to hold us up and to continue to uphold us.
TO DECIDE IN OUR FAVOUR
This aspect is even more special. In court when a request or a decision is upheld, the judge sustains it. Perhaps you have heard that statement when a judge declares the word ‘sustained’. In essence when this happens the judge decides in favour of the request. In the same way God wants to sustain your requests and wants to decide in your favour.
Psalm 119:116 Sustain me according to Your promise, and I will live.
