God wants to make Himself real to us.   He does not want us to run on our own steam. Our strength fades, but God’s power has no end. We need to run on God.  It is like batteries that need to be constantly charged if they are going stay fully charged.  There needs to be this connection.  There needs to be this constant flow from God to us.  From the one who has the power to those who need it.  God wants to give Himself to us.
 
We need power in our lives.  Power to overcome sin.  Power to live in health.  Power to live in victory over fear, discouragement, despair and hopelessness.  If you have ever battled in some of these areas, you will know how difficult it is to overcome, in your own power and strength.  We need God in every area in our lives.  Jesus Christ needs to be alive within us, so that we can connect with His power, without which we can do nothing.

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Galatians 2:20 ‘It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life that I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God. Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.’

Many people look to all sorts for power.  But God is the source of the power that we need.

Matthew 28:18 ‘All authority all power of rule in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.’
Hebrews 1:3 ‘He upholds (maintaining, guiding and propelling the universe) by His mighty word of power.

God is the ultimate source of power.  All power comes from God; we have no power of our own.

Matthew 19:26 ‘Jesus looked at them and said, with men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.’
