When the things crumble

Daily Thought

Your Word for 16 April 2024

Colossians 1:13
‘He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.’

Our values, our principles, these are the things that we feel give us purpose and meaning.  The things that make us feel sure.  When pillars and foundations within our society give way, then we need an anchor.

Psalm 118:8-9 It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in men. It is better to take refuge in him than in the mightiest king!

We can be sure of God. We can always trust Him.  We can trust Him completely even when everything else is being tossed around. Our anchors must not rest on Him.  But they must be hooked onto Him.  He will hold us through the storms.

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation.
