According to Hebrews 11:33 the Old Testament saints who were blessed by God, obtained their blessings BY FAITH! It says that “THROUGH FAITH … THEY OBTAINED PROMISES”.
It is wrong to say, “If God has promised it to me, then why has He not kept His promise?” God always keeps His promises when we BELIEVE them. Anything we receive from God we receive by faith – we believe Him for it! The Bible says, “Anything that is not of faith is sin”.
Therefore, if we want to be blessed by the wonderful promises of God, we need to stop believing for the worst and confessing for the worst, and we need to start believing for what God has promised and confessing that we are blessed people!
As we sum up our study let me share with you a clear example from Scripture in this regard.
A. God made promises to Abraham.
Romans 4:13 “For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.”
B. These promises became a reality THROUGH FAITH!
Romans 4:13 “For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.”
FAITH THAT STEMS FROM GRACE!
Verse 16 “Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all”
FAITH THAT GOES BEYOND HOPE!
Verse 18 “Who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
FAITH THAT IS STRONG!
Verse 19 “And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.”
FAITH THAT DOES NOT WAVER!
Verse 20-21 “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, And being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.”
FAITH THAT IS REWARDED!
Verse 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
MAKE A DECISION AS A MEMBER OF GOD’S FAMILY!
- To experience all the blessings God has for you!
- To settle for nothing less than His blessings!
- To begin to confess that you are blessed, no matter what you see around you.
- To start believing God for every blessing He has promised!
