The Last Words of Jesus (Part 3 of 7 Jesus makes provision)

Matthew 6:33              (NLT)
‘Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.’

John 19:26-27 New Living Translation – When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” And he said to this disciple,“Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home.

THE RELATIONSHIP CHANGES
Here we see how Jesus speaks to His mother. We see how He calls her ‘WOMAN’ not mother. In that moment the relationship changed. He was now ‘THE SON OF GOD – TAKING AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD’. The son of man could never do that, it had to be the Son of God!
In that moment He became the Saviour of the world! In the same way, our relationship with God needs to change and He (Jesus) needs to become more than historical knowledge about a man and He needs to become our Saviour!
JESUS MAKES PROVISION
Jesus wanted to make sure that Mary was cared for. It is a moment of honouring and provision. Even when faced with tremendous pain and suffering this aspect was important to Him. In addition His disciple John was also at the cross. He was the disciple whom Jesus loved. In Jesus’ wisdom, He must have realized that the one He loved would take care of His mother.
In the same way God wants you and I to know that He will make a way for us, even in the toughest of situations. God will be faithful to meet our needs.
