We should yield our lives to God for the following reasons:
1. Because it is the least we can do.
Jesus gave His life for us. The least we can do is to yield our lives to Him.
Romans 12:1 ‘I urge you, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.’
To offer ourselves to God, that is the right thing to do and it is a form of worship.
2. Because it is something that God wants from us.
God is just waiting for us to yield ourselves to Him. What will your response be? It may call for every area of our lives to be yielded. I am ready to do this. How about you?
People always think that God wants things from them. But this is wrong. What God really desires is you and I. He wants relationship and fellowship with us. But He is looking for us to yield ourselves to Him first, as an act of our free will. This is what the Corinthian Christians did.
2 Corinthians 8:5 ‘They gave themselves first to the Lord’
People are ready to give themselves to many things, Sport, Work and Pleasure. But God wants us to give ourselves to Him, firstly.
