All of us have a reputation. Or we have a name in one field or another. Some people have a great reputation for being a great sportsman. Other people are known for their role as political leaders. Some people make a name for them selves because of their academic achievements. Some people are renowned for their wealth. There are many reasons for having a reputation, some good and some bad. When you hear the name of a person, certain thoughts immediately pass through your mind. I want to be someone who has a reputation as someone who is pursuing God.
Proverbs 22:1 A good name is more desirable than great riches; for to be held in loving esteem is better than silver and gold.
The Bible speaks about a good name and being held in loving esteem.
Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good reputation is more valuable than the most expensive perfume.
To have a reputation for good is one of the most valuable things that you can have. It is greater than wealth and greater than any possession.
