There is a connection between courage and hope. If we have no hope or have lost hope we will not find strength and courage. Hope is that spark within each one of us that wants to believe for the best. Our hope needs to be firmly placed in God. If we have hope, courage will flow out of it. So hold on to your hope, don’t give it up for anything!
Job 11:18 You will have courage because you will have hope.
Hope brings the strength that we need to be courageous.
This is another source of courage. If we have confidence in God we can have a source of courage. If we have given up on God and have lost our confidence we have no reason for courage. But if we believe in God and trust Him completely, placing our confidence in Him we can be very courageous.
2 Samuel 10:12 Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what is good in his sight.
These people had confidence in God and as a result they could be strong and have the strength to fight for themselves and on the behalf of others. If we have our confidence in God we can also have the courage to stand for others as well as ourselves.
