OUR HEARTS ARE IMPORTANT TO GOD.

God is watching our hearts and He is at work in our hearts. What goes on in our hearts is important to God. Our hearts are the place where we deal with the aspects we are facing and make the decisions regarding our attitudes and responses to life. This place deep within each one of us, the ‘real you’ is a place that God is interested in. It does not matter what you are battling with, God wants to help us to be able to bring about change to this aspect of our lives. As a result we can develop pure hearts and have hearts that are pleasing to God. 

Proverbs 4:23 ‘Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.’

GOD IS AT WORK WITHIN OUR HEARTS.
The Bible speaks of the refiner’s fire. This is the process we go through in developing pure hearts. It is as though what should not be there is burned away.
Often times this refining process takes place through the circumstances and situations we face in life. God is at work within each one of us. We know that all things work together for our good if we love God. The greatest joy is to know that God is both interested in and watches our progress as we face this refining fire.

Malachi 3:3 ‘Like a refiner of silver He will sit and closely watch as the dross is
burned away. He will purify. … refining them like gold or silver, so that they will
do their work for God with pure hearts.’

Our hearts are even more important to God than what our circumstances are.
Think of Joseph who sat in jail until the matters of the heart had been resolved.
Think of Moses who wondered the wilderness for many years while God worked in his heart and all this while the nation of Israel was suffering.
