Have you ever felt weak and discouraged?
These are common human emotions.
We all go through them from time to time.
Even the great men of the Bible were faced with this.
But in these situations God was faithful.
God can be relied upon.
However, He calls for us to be strong.
AN EXAMPLE FROM THE BIBLE
In the book of Joshua we see an example of this.
Here we see Joshua, a man chosen by God.
He has one of the greatest tasks in history.
To take the Jewish nation into the promised land.
But he was fearful, discouraged and full of doubt.
Sometimes we are a bit like that.
But God encouraged Joshua all the time to be strong and courageous.
HOW GOD ENCOURAGED JOSHUA
i. God encouraged Joshua by His presence.
ii. God encouraged Joshua by His instructions to Joshua to be strong and courageous.
God encourages Joshua in this way on 3 occasions.
Joshua 1:6 Be strong and courageous.
Joshua 1:7 Be strong and very courageous.
Joshua 1:9 Be strong an courageous.
Perhaps God is wanting to encourage you in the same way, today.
