BE FLEXIBLE
If we are going to be a people of hope we will need to be flexible.
People who are unaccommodating bring condemnation and hopelessness to others.
Often times when people are going through difficulty, others do not fully understand the magnitude of the difficulty.
Under these circumstances judgment is easily made without a real understanding.
We need to remain flexible and make allowances for others and the things that they are facing.
Ephesians 4:2 Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
In this way we can be a source of hope for others.
CARRY THE LOAD
Here is another way in which we can be a source of hope to others.
We can play a role in carrying the load and sharing the burden.
I once heard someone say that ‘a joy shared is a joy doubled and a problem shared is a problem halved’.
We can be a source of hope as we carry the burdens of others.
This involves effort and may mean that we have to go the extra mile.
As Christians this is how we are called to live.
Galatians 6:2 Share each other’s troubles and problems, and so obey our Lord’s command. (Living Bible)
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens. (KJV)
