How is it going in your life? Are you surviving or are you overcoming? There is a great difference between the two. The Bible tells us that we can live a life of overcoming. Many people spend their lives surviving life. I want what God has got for me. I want to live the life that God has for me. I want the same for you. Let’s look at the difference between these two aspects.
SURVIVING
What does it mean to be surviving? I meet many people. Often when I ask people how they are, they tell me that they are surviving. What does this mean? It just means that they are still alive. The definition of surviving: to remain alive or in existence, to continue to function or to continue to exist or live. I believe that many people live like this. They just continue to exist or function. They are still alive and breathing, but that is about it.
ALIVE OR LIVING
Here is another big difference. To be alive is to continue breathing. To be living is more than just being alive. I want to be living life, not just still alive.
John 10:10 ‘The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.’
Life to the full, or abundant life is what Jesus has for us. God never intended for us just to live or exist or survive. There is so much living to be done.
