WHO IS YOUR HOPE?
The question we each have to ask ourselves is who is our hope? What have we placed our hope and expectation in? There are many things that people place their confidence in and many of those things are not guaranteed. They are here today and gone tomorrow. If we place our hope in something that is not sure, then we are sure to be disappointed. It may be your career, it may be your children, it may be some organization or business, it could be your money or your resources and it may even be your husband or your wife.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible tells us that God is a God of hope. He is the author of hope. We must look to Him as our source of hope.
EXPECTATION
As God begins to restore or give us hope, we can begin to live with expectation. This expectation and hope is what makes life worth living. This expectation of the fulfillment of what God has spoken or the success we believe in our hearts that God has for us, is what we need in our hearts. Expect God to move! Await His intervention and never doubt it. Hope finds its expression, especially during the endurance of a trial. Holding onto hope is never more applicable than when we are facing trials.
1 Thessalonians 1:3 We continually remember before our God and Father your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you are facing some form of trial, challenge or difficulty, God is there for you. Take hope! Take hold of hope! Hope against hope! Never stop hoping! Anything can happen and with God in the equation anything can change.
Colossians 1:27 And this is the secret: Christ in your hearts is your only hope of glory.
