FUTURE ORIENTATED PEOPLE
We have a choice! We can live in the past and be past-orientated people, or we can look to the future and be future-orientated people. It speaks of focus. We can be backward focused or forward focused. I believe that we must be forward looking people!

Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

This ‘pressing on’ attitude is the attitude of future orientated people.
THE IMPORTANCE OF CHOICE
Choices play such a vital part in our lives. Choices dictate our future and to a large degree even our present. We are constantly faced with choices. Even God gives us choices.

 Joshua 24:15 Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.
Deuteronomy 30:19 I have set before you life or death, blessing or curse. Oh, that you would choose life; that you and your children might live!  (The first step to moving on is choice.)

It starts as we choose to move on and leave the things that we have been holding on to. (e.g.: Past hurt, Past success, past failure or past disappointments)
If you are fearful, ask God to give you wisdom to make the right choices. Don’t get cold feet. Step forward and let’s move on.
BE EXPECTANT
To be able to be expectant we need to be God-orientated. Nothing is too hard for God! Expect God to come through for you. Get hold of the promises again. Begin to read them and believe them. As a pregnant lady would make arrangements for the child, so we must be expectant and prepare for what God has got for us. It may well be that something has been conceived within us and we need to give it a chance to develop and grow. But the promise is there! God has a plan for each one of us, no matter how we feel.

Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
