This is exactly what John the Baptist said:

John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

This is exactly what Jesus did for us when He died in our place on the cross:

1 Peter 2:24  “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:  by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Jesus, through His death for us, has provided a solution to our sin problem.  A solution that you can experience right now.  Yes, right now!
Let’s go back to our text:

1 John 3:4-5 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.”

FACT 2:  Jesus was the only one qualified to take away our sins.

1 John 3:5  “And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and IN HIM IS NO SIN.”

His sinless life qualified Him to be the perfect sacrifice for our sin.
FACT 3:  Those who really know God don’t KEEP ON willfully sinning.

1 John 3:6  “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.”

The implication of this verse is that God has not only helped us with our PAST SIN, but He also helps us constantly to live victoriously over sin.  So we see that Jesus came that first Christmas to help us deal with our sin problem!  As we read on in our text we see another wonderful truth:  JESUS CAME …
