1 John 3:4-11 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Christmas is the coming of Jesus. It is His birth that we celebrate. Why did Jesus come? I want to try and answer this question just very simply in this message by way of first of all saying that there is no doubt about it, Christmas is certainly a wonderful time of the year, to be with family and other people and celebrate with them the joy and happiness of Christmas to me is so very special. And this is so very true, especially when you personally know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour – if you really know Him.
So my question to you is, “do you really know the Lord Jesus?”
There is certainly something special about Christmas. Something happens in my spirit and I am just filled with a special joy at this time of year.
– About Christmas music.
– About Christmas decorations.
– About Christmas presents. We give gifts because Jesus was God’s gift to us and we are celebrating the greatest gift of all!
– About Christmas cards bearing Christmas greetings.
– About Christmas generosity.
I remember my first Christmas as a true born-again Christian. The excitement in my heart as I approached this first Christmas! I went to church that Christmas morning and I said for the first time, thank you to the Lord for the gift of Jesus that I had received …. because before being born again, I could not say this.
UNFORTUNATELY, many people miss the real meaning of Christmas. Christmas is JESUS!
BUT IN ACTUAL FACT IT IS A TIME FOR CELEBRATING THE COMING TO EARTH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! AND, when we take note of what the Bible says about the reasons why Jesus came, we see some wonderful reasons.
