2 Peter 1:4 He has given us his very great and precious promises.

The promises that God has given us in His word are precious. They are valuable and have the power to strengthen and encourage us! Here are a few examples:
1. Nothing will ever separate us from His love!
2. He has promised never to leave us or forsake us!
3. He has promised to provide us with our needs!
4. He has promised to take care of us!
5. He has promised us eternal life!
The Bible is full of promises. These are the promises of God in which we can have confidence.  This makes these promises precious and we can take hold of them knowing that God’s word is something we can rely upon.
How is this possible?  As we make Jesus Lord of our lives.

1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord.

If Jesus isn’t the Lord of your life then these precious treasures don’t mean much. As Christians we must not doubt. The world may be trying to discredit Jesus. Other religions may try and water Him down as a ‘good man’ or ‘a prophet’. But we must settle the matter once and for all in our own hearts. We must SET JESUS CHRIST APART AS HOLY in our own hearts.  If you are not a Christian and you do not know Jesus, you need to make a decision and you need to acknowledge Him as Lord.  When we do this, we can take as our own the precious treasures that God has for each one of us!
