1. God is not a static God nor is He a stagnant God. The Bible tells us that things are new every day!
Lamentations 3:22-23 It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.
2. God is a now God.
Exodus 3:14 And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you!
‘I am’ indicates a present continuous form. God is a God of today. Don’t cling to the old – be prepared to move!
Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it?
3. Constant change is here to stay. It is risky – it takes you out of your comfort zone. Tommy Tenney said: ‘some people are still sitting in the same church as ten years ago. They don’t realize that God has moved on – they are comfortable in their comfort zone.’
4. Be alert in the spirit – don’t be content with the status quo. Stagnation causes you to go backwards.
Romans 12:11 Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.
Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth!
