We sing that old song: ‘What a friend we have in Jesus’. This is my prayer for you, that you would have a friend in God.
Numbers 6:26 May the LORD turn His face toward you.
This speaks to me of intimacy. God is closer than you think and He is there for you. The possibility exists for a personal, loving, ongoing relationship with the creator of the universe and this possibility is open to each and every one of us. This is not head knowledge of God but rather heart knowledge of God. When you turn your face towards someone you give him or her your focus and attention. In the same way God wants to turn His face towards you and give you His focus and attention, if only we will respond! One last aspect that needs to included here is the fact that God loves you, accepts you, approves of you and values you!
