All true believers acknowledge that all things come from His hand. This includes our salvation, our forgiveness, the things and positions we presently enjoy and our hope for the future. All these things come from the hand of God.
The act of laying down crowns before His throne signifies that those crowns came from the One seated on the throne. By the grace of God we are what we are and we have what we have. There is also the reality that we are not fit to wear them in His presence. This needs to become a reality in our daily lives.
He is the source of everything. We have no power of our own; we only have what He has made available to us. It all comes by the grace of God and by His grace alone. It is His grace that has brought us and kept. It is His grace that has brought us to salvation. And it is by His grace that we will one day stand in His presence and see Him face to face. There is no believer in heaven who wears a crown that is not a result of the sovereign grace of God in and on their lives.
Isaiah 64:6 ‘…all our righteous acts are like filthy rags…’
