Revelation 4:10-11 The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.’
We don’t know much about heaven. The Bible gives us glimpses, but not a lot of details. Perhaps that is how God intended it, because it is beyond human comprehension. I believe that it is another realm of which we have very limited human capacity to grasp.
If I look at the vastness of our universe, that is in its self, too great to fully comprehend, then one can only begin to imagine the vastness of heaven which will far exceed our limited universe. But in this scripture we catch a rare glimpse of one of the dimensions of this great place, where we as believers are destined to spend eternity.
It is a place of great perpetual worship. It is also a place of great authority – God Himself is there. Jesus is there and there is a throne. These who have gone before are there. It is a place of great understanding and revelation. A place where we will finally grasp the greatness of God and how utterly dependant we all are on Him.
It is like a sneak preview through a window into the timeless, matchless and majestic aspect of heaven itself. Oh the joy that lies before us. Perhaps the greatest joy will be just knowledge that we are in the presence of God Himself.
