Our whole lives must be a race characterized by a sense of persevering determination!
Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.
Philippians 3:13-14 I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.
Let us keep pressing on. Let us run the race with determination and perseverance with the goal of reaching the end and winning. It is not how we start that counts. It is not how we run that counts. It is how we finish that counts. Will we finish with determination and perseverance or will we finish with compromise and excuses? That’s the choice!
