We were all created with a need for God. The creed says that the chief purpose of man is to love God and to enjoy Him forever. It is only as we begin to experience this in our lives that there can truly be a sense of fulfillment and purpose.
I was watching an interview on television recently. They were interviewing a popular and highly successful pop star. The man made a profound statement. He said that he had everything that money could buy and yet he was unhappy.
Something within us needs God in order that we can find fulfillment and purpose in life. It is as if there is a God-shaped vacuum within us that only God can fill. We can try and fill it with many things, including good deeds and actions, and still be empty because it is reserved for God.
