At the feet of Jesus is the best place to be. Down on our knees is the best place to be. There is a song with the following words: ‘Down at you feet oh Lord is most high place.’
It is from this place that we can touch His heart and He can touch us.
Perhaps it is time to come back to this way of living. Jesus always dealt with those who came to His feet with mercy and compassion. Whatever you need, bring it to the feet of Jesus.
To be at the feet of Jesus is one of the best places to be. We have to put everything else aside if we are going to be at His feet. There is a great story about two sisters, one of whom understood the value of being at Jesus feet.
Luke 10:38-42 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Notice three things:
- Mary was at Jesus feet.
- Jesus said the following: ‘Only one thing is needed’ and ‘Mary has chosen what is better’
- It will not be taken from her.
To be at Jesus feet is the one thing that we need; it is the ‘better choice’.
