Joshua 3:5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”
To be consecrated is to be set apart. It is obviously something we can do if God tells the people to do it.
What is consecration? Consecration is the solemn dedication to a special purpose or service. The word consecration literally means “association with the sacred”. Persons, places, or things can be consecrated.
It means that we are dedicated to a sacred purpose. It can also mean: To devote oneself, to dedicate oneself, to set apart oneself, to officially make something hold through a special religious ceremony. A very special act of consecration is communion.
