As we accept the Child, let us return to childlikeness.  Childlike faith, childlike belief and childlike confidence in the Child that was given to us!  Yes, we must accept the historical fact as truth.
Yes, we must accept the Child as a personal gift to us.  Yes, we must be changed as a result.  But it goes a step further.  We have been given a Son.
The question is: ‘Are you a son yourself?’

 John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.

Make the connection – Accept the Son and be a son or a daughter of God.  As you receive the Son, you can become a son or daughter of God.  Are you a son or a daughter of God?  Do you trust your Heavenly Father?  Do you trust Him to be a father, a provider and a friend to you?
