We can and we do pass through seasons during which we have every reason to allow our hearts to become troubled. Job is an example of this very thing. He was going through a really tough time and this is what he said:
Job 30:27 My heart is troubled and restless.
We do go through these seasons. There are times in our lives when we face things and as a result we can become troubled. The issue is WHEN these times come not IF they come. God, however, wants us to be careful as to how we respond at such times. God does not want us to become troubled people.
THINGS ON EVERY SIDE
Have every felt like this? On every side you are facing different issues and challenges. Sometimes we do feel like this, but this is not something unique to you or to me. Even the Apostles in the Bible, who had first hand experience of Jesus, knew what it was like.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
The issue is how are we going to respond. When we are pressed, we must become crushed. When we are perplexed, we must not despair. When we fall down, we must get up.
