There are many things that can cause blockages in our lives and leave us feeling like God is afar off. Each individual must evaluate his/her own life and determine if, in fact, there is anything and if so, how are they going to deal with it. The issue is that God wants us to be restored to relationship with Him and He wants to help us to get back to that point.
Sin is a major obstacle. When we live in sin or tolerate sin in our lives it causes a distance between us and God.
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities (sin) have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.
Sin causes a separation between us and God. Sin hides God’s face from us. Sin stops God from hearing our prayers. So sin (wrong) in our lives in the first and major obstacle that can cause a ceiling to develop in our relationship with God.
