The foundation that God is offering us is a foundation that will not be moved. It is a tried and tested foundation upon which the saints have relied and trusted and it did not fail them. Think of Joseph, David and Abraham. Just as the foundation has carried others, it can carry you as well.
If we will build, rely and trust in this foundation then we will not be ashamed, nor will we give way under the pressures of life, nor will we be destroyed when troubles come.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic].
