You have been placed in a new family.  Jesus makes it very clear in John 1:12 that,

All who received Him who believe in His name, He gives the right to become Children of God.” (NIV)

In other words, you have become part of His family. All those who have put their faith in the Lord belong to “the household off faith” Galatians 6:10
Because we have received the Lord Jesus we can say with Paul in Ephesians 2:19,

Consequently, we are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with Gods people and MEMBERS OF GOD’S HOUSEHOLD. (NIV)

There are many people who have come from a broken home and have had the misfortune of having parents who have placed a heavy burden upon them by not living upright lives.  To those in such circumstances I want to say, “God has made arrangements for you to belong to another family His own family.” Though you may find it difficult to identify with your natural family, he says, “Identity with Me, and with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Enjoy what it means to be placed into a new family!”
To belong to a family is so special! It gives us a sense of belonging, of security, of strength, and of protection. To belong to God’s family guarantees this and more.
