When God calls us by name things change. We see from God’s perspective. And just the sound of our names takes our blindness away. This happened after Jesus rose from the dead. Mary found Him in the garden and did not recognise Him. But the moment He called her name, everything changed.
John 20:15-16 Why are you crying?” he asked her. “Whom are you looking for?” She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him. Mary! Jesus said. She turned toward him. “Master!” she exclaimed.
She recognised Jesus when He called her name. In that moment she saw things differently. That is what happens when we hear God calling our names.
