That is what God has for us. That is His desire for us.
1 Peter 1:8 You love him even though you have never seen him; though not seeing him, you trust him; and even now you are happy with the inexpressible joy that comes from heaven itself.
Inexpressible joy that comes from heaven itself. Obviously we can experience this joy. It can be a living reality in our lives here on earth. ‘EVEN NOW’ speaks of the possibility that we can experience this in the here and now. Well, I want more of this joy. This is what another translation says: ‘joy unspeakable and full of glory’. Having the joy that God has for us includes experiencing His glory. The joy and the glory are connected.
Psalm 2:11 Serve the Lord with reverent fear; rejoice with trembling.
Exodus 23:25 And you shall serve the LORD your God, and He shall bless your bread, and your water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Psalm 100:2-5 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.
We can be happy. It is part of what God has for us!
