What are the things that stop us from pursuing God? Well, there are many things that get in the way.  I like to call these things distractions.  Most times they are good and well intended things.  BUT they rob us and stop us from pressing through.  Good ideas that keep us busy. Good ideas that keep us entertained.  Watch out for distractions.

1 Corinthians 7:35 I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few other things as possible to distract your attention from him.

We need to let God become the focus of our attention. The one thing we are searching for.

Psalm 105:4 Search for him and for his strength, and keep on searching!
Psalm 63:1 O God, my God! How I search for you! How I thirst for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. How I long to find you!
Psalm 119:2 Happy are all who search for God and always do his will.

God wants to come through for us.  He wants to be real and a living reality to us.

Proverbs 8:17 I love all who love me. Those who search for me shall surely find me.

What a great promise.  Let’s make God the focus of our attention and the one thing we concentrate on.  We can find what we are searching for.
