The ramifications of repentance

Philippians 4:8 NLT
‘Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.’

The tree of repentance has three major branches:

REMORSE: this involves a feeling of regret for a sin or a wrong committed.

2 Corinthians 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.

RESTITURIONS: this is the act of restoring or giving back to its proper owner or of making reparation to a person for loss or injury inflicted.

Luke 19:8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”

REFORMATION: this involves the changing of our life styles and then the following of Jesus. The same Jesus who said, “Repent”, also said, “Follow Me!”.
