Contentment starts when we begin to realize that God has a plan and a purpose for each one of us.  His plan and purpose for each one of us is unique to us.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

For this reason we do not need to compare ourselves to others or want what others have got.  God has got something unique and special for you.  This is where contentment can begin to be established in our lives.
Contentment is not linked to how much we have. Contentment is linked to the purpose for our existence.  We substitute things for our purpose and those things will never satisfy!
