Daily Bible Verse: Psalm 18:35 GNT
‘O LORD, You protect me and save me; Your care has made me great, and Your power has kept me safe.’
- You are precious and valuable to God and He loves you.
- He protects you and He saves you.
- His care for you shows you how much He loves you.
- There is no limit to His power and what He can do.
Prayer: Lord, You are my Protector and my Saviour. You care for me and You keep me safe. I can place my life in Your hands, knowing that You will cover me with Your wings and be my Lord and my God. Amen.
Daily Bible Verse: Psalm 18:35 GNT
‘O LORD, You protect me and save me; Your care has made me great, and Your power has kept me safe.’
Daily Bible Verse: Job 33:4
‘The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.’
The gracious hand of God was with Nehemiah he had favour.
Nehemiah 2:8 And because the gracious hand of my God was upon me, the king granted my requests.
BUT there was also opposition. Often we think that if God is with us there will be NO opposition. There will always be opposition.
Nehemiah 2:19 But when Sanballat and Tobiah, and Geshem heard of it, they laughed us to scorn and despised us and said, What is this thing you are doing? Will you rebel against the king??
When you and I take the decision to arise and rebuild, there will be opposition. This opposition can take many forms. Don’t let opposition stop you from rebuilding!
ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY – BUT A LOT CAN BE ACHIEVED IN A SHORT TIME WITH GOD’S FAVOUR!
Nehemiah 6:15 So the wall was finished in fifty-two days.
Nehemiah had the God-given vision. He had the favour of God on his life and endeavours. He had the favour of the king. But we have to ask the questions:
Build what?
Build where?
Build with what?
Notice Nehemiah built on exactly the same foundation. He used the same stones.
Neh 4:2 “What does this bunch of poor, feeble Jews think they are doing? Do they think they can build the wall in a day if they offer enough sacrifices? Look at those charred stones they are pulling out of the rubbish and using again!”
Sometimes we think we must go somewhere else and build. We may even think that we must use new materials to build. God often uses the very ruins and uses those very materials to rebuild what He has in mind.
