Daily Bible Verse:              Exodus 33:14

The LORD replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’

- One thing that we cannot do without is the presence of God in our lives.
- Without His presence in our lives, life becomes meaningless.
- Don’t try to do life on your own, rather rely on His presence.
- Knowing that He is with you makes all the difference, and it brings peace.

Prayer: Lord, I never want to find myself in a place where I am not aware of Your presence in my life. I choose to follow You and to know and experience Your abiding presence in my life. Amen.

Daily Bible Verse: Exodus 33:14
The LORD replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’

Daily Bible Verse: Psalm 90:1 (GNT)
‘O Lord, You have always been our home.’

PREPARATION FOR PREVAILING Joshua 5:1-15

PREPARATION FOR PREVAILING Joshua 5:1-15

REALISE THAT PREVAILING IS OFTEN PRECEDED BY A WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE.
Before the nation of Israel prevailed and entered the Promised Land there was a period of wandering in the desert for 40 years.
Before Moses was used by God to lead the nation out of captivity in Egypt, he spent years tending flocks in the desert.
Before Joseph rose to the throne in Pharaoh's palace, he spent time as a slave and in prison.
Before David was appointed king he spent years wandering and hiding in caves.
So realize that prevailing is often preceded by a wilderness experience.
If you have been facing a wilderness experience, begin to believe that there is a season of prevailing ahead.

GOD'S IDEA OF PREPARATION FOR PREVAILING IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO WHAT THE WORLD MAY SUGGEST.
We may believe we know what we need to do to set ourselves up to prevail.
If we want to prevail in some sporting activity we know we need to train to develop our fitness and strength.
If we want to prevail in a military sense we know we have to be equipped, battle ready and we must have the necessary arms and equipment.
If we want to prevail in business, we know we must have a business plan, a marketing strategy and good management.
BUT when God prepares us for prevailing the preparation is completely different and it differs from person to person.
God prepared the nation of Israel for prevailing just before they entered the Promised Land.
This preparation was not what we as humans would have expected.
Let's take a look: Joshua 5:1-15
Now the Nation of Israel is set to prevail. The nations occupying the land have lost heart and are ripe to be conquered.
But before God allows them to do what would otherwise be the most natural thing, He takes them through a preparation process.
It is an example I believe we can apply to our own lives if we want to be prepared for the prevailing God has in store for us.
