The birth of Jesus 2000 years ago was not just a historical fact. It was the start of something. It was the beginning of God’s plan for redemption for all of humanity. It was not something that happened and was relegated to the realms of history. It is something that is still relevant today.
The reason for this is that that same child born in Bethlehem on that first Christmas all those years ago, still reigns today and will reign forevermore. He is still on the throne today. He still has the final authority on all matters. He still has the power to effect change and touch people’s hearts and lives.
He is still Christ, the Messiah that anointed One. He is still the Shepherd of the Sheep; the Master and Guardian of our Souls; the Advocate, the Ancient of Days, the Chief Cornerstone, Immanuel, Great High Priest; the Pioneer and Perfecter of our Faith (or Author and Finisher); Lamb of God; Lamb Slain before the Foundation of the World; Lord God Almighty.
He reigns forevermore.
