Daily Bible Verse: 1 John 2:17 (NLT)
'This world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.'
- We live in a world that is characterised by constant change.
- Our earthly experience is temporary and fleeting.
- What is popular and essential today may well be irrelevant tomorrow.
- But when we do what pleases God, there is an eternal reward in store for us.
Prayer: Lord, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You. May I not be influenced and drawn away from You by things that are temporary and fading away. I choose to do what pleases You. Amen.
Daily Bible Verse: 1 John 2:17 (NLT)
'This world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.'
Daily Bible Verse: Hebrews 6:19a
'We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.'
My name is Andrew Roebert (pronounced Ray-bert). I live in the city of Pretoria, South Africa, together with my two daughters, Caitlin and Amy. For three generations now, my family have been serving God in various capacities. I was born in Pretoria, South Africa in November of 1966. My father, Pastor Ed Roebert was the pastor of the Hatfield Christian Church in Pretoria until his death in 1997.
This church was not a 'normal' church, but it was a place where we discovered that God was alive and that He loved us and wanted us to know His presence in our lives as a living reality. This involved the active pursuit of the Holy Spirit and as a result many people were drawn to what was happening. Being brought up in this environment and with a Godly heritage, has been something special to me, and out of this background came a desire within me for more of God.
I currently serve as CEO of Impact Radio in Pretoria, South Africa. I host a regular radio programme on this station and write articles for certain Christian magazines.
This ministry was started by my late wife Vanessa and I to help those individuals who would love to experience more of God. The Bible tells us that we can be 'Alive to God'. For many Christians this has been an element that they have failed to enjoy. Enjoying God and His presence in our lives is something that we can 'know' and experience in our lives. In the process two ideas emerged in an attempt to try and assist individuals in this regard.
