WE ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS.
Just as God encouraged Joshua to be strong and courageous so He wants to do the same for each of us.
Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” NIV
Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” NKJ
Joshua 1:9 “Yes, be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” LIVING 
Today you and I are being encouraged to be strong just as Joshua was encouraged to be strong.

THE NATURE OF DISMAY
Dismay is something that powerfully influences people.
Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” NKJ
What is this dismay?
Dismay is another word for discouragement.
The dictionary calls it horrified amazement.
It is when we become disheartened and fearful.
It becomes a reality when people lose hope.
We are encouraged not to be dismayed.

GOD IS WITH YOU
This is a great joy.
That God can be with us.
For this very reason we don’t need to get discouraged.
Joshua 1:9 The Lord your God is with you.
Joshua 1:5 I will never leave you nor forsake you.
It is for this reason that we are strong.
This is the fact and this is the foundation.
Because of this we can be strong and courageous.
Because we can resist fear, discouragement, hopelessness and dismay.
God is with us.
Be strong!
