Luke 11:10 Everyone who asks, receives; all who seek, find; and the door is opened to everyone who knocks.
This is perhaps the most rewarding scripture. The issue is that everyone receives. This is also a promise. If we will pray, asking and seeking and knocking at God’s door, holding on through the ‘faith period’, God has something in store for us. What do you think the implications are for you in the light of this scripture? We may not get exactly what we ask for, but perhaps we will get what is right and best for us. The key words in this scripture are ‘everyone and all’. That includes you!
GOD HAS SOMETHING GOOD IN STORE
This is something special. God has something good in store for each one of us. As we ask God and seek God and knock, God wants to bless us with good things.
Luke 11:11-13 “You men who are fathers—if your boy asks for bread, do you give him a stone? If he asks for fish, do you give him a snake? If he asks for an egg, do you give him a scorpion? Of course not! “And if even sinful persons like yourselves give children what they need, don’t you realize that your heavenly Father will do at least as much, and give the Holy Spirit to those who ask for him?”
We can trust God!
WE NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT
We need the Holy Spirit in the all-important aspect of prayer.
Romans 8:26 And in the same way—by our faith—the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying. For we don’t even know what we should pray for nor how to pray as we should, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words.
The aspect of prayer is something most Christians battle with. Again God has provided someone who will help us in our praying. Our Heavenly Father will give us His Holy Spirit to help us. Prayer is not a matter that has been left totally to us. We have been given someone who will help us and He is the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, we invite you into our lives. Please come and help us in our daily lives and in our praying. We need you! Amen.
