The tree of repentance has three major branches:
- REMORSE: this involves a feeling of regret for a sin or a wrong committed.
2 Corinthians 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.
- RESTITURIONS: this is the act of restoring or giving back to its proper owner or of making reparation to a person for loss or injury inflicted.
Luke 19:8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”
- REFORMATION: this involves the changing of our life styles and then the following of Jesus. The same Jesus who said, “Repent”, also said, “Follow Me!”.
